Lifehouse Broken Music Video with Lyrics

"Broken" is the third single from the band Lifehouse off their fourth studio album Who We Are. Lifehouse released a statement on their website about "Broken" being the next single, along with a remixed version of the song. The official radio mix of the song is available on iTunes.

The music video for "Broken" was released on the band's official site on September 16, 2008, heavily adopted concept behind Natalie Imbruglia's That Day video. The video was directed by actor Kiefer Sutherland (who also serves as producer of the album through his record company, Ironworks Records) and Frank Borin.

The video starts with lead singer Jason Wade in the drivers seat of a car, with the other members of the band, Rick, Bryce, and Ben, in the car with him. The traffic is at a stand still in a tunnel, as a swarm of people have abandoned their vehicles and are walking through. Wade and the band members get out of the car, and begin walking in the opposite direction of the crowd to the other side of the tunnel. Wade pushes through the people, who are in a rush to get to the entrance of the tunnel, while Wade is constantly focused on his destination to get to the end. When he reaches the tunnel's end, he sees the wreckage of a car crash with firefighters and paramedics cleaning up the mess. Wade then sees a girl observing what appears to be herself, dead inside one of the crashed car. He then looks to the left, and sees an old man observing himself, dead on the ground. As Wade looks into the other car, he sees himself, also seemingly dead.

Upon this, he frantically runs back into the tunnel towards his car. He sees himself in the car with the band members, however everyone seems to be frozen as he bangs on the windows. Suddenly he's inside the car again, and a police officer comes to the window to motion him to continue driving, since he is stopped in the middle of the tunnel for no apparent reason. The video then ends, giving the impression that Wade was having a premonition the whole time about a car crash he might cause.

Jason Wade also has a reason as to why he wrote this song. His friend who lived in Nashville needed a kidney transplant so Wade flew out to see his friend. When he got there he went to talk to him and the chorus of the song is actually what his friend told him.

The video also uses a slightly extended version of the song, which has not been officially released.

Californication is the seventh studio album by American alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on June 8, 1999 on Warner Bros. Records. Produced by Rick Rubin, Californication marked the return of John Frusciante, who had previously appeared on Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, to replace Dave Navarro as the band's guitarist. Frusciante's return was credited with changing the band's sound altogether. The record was a notable shift in style from what was produced with Navarro. The album's subject material incorporated various sexual innuendos commonly associated with the band, and introduced themes of lust, death, contemplations of suicide, and drugs.

The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex in 1976. Grammy Winning Singer Helps Raise Awareness of Christian Appalachian Project

Nashville, Tenn. (September 17, 2009) With just a few weeks to go before the release of the highly anticipated Mountain Soul II record, Patty Loveless is hitting the road for her first in a series of concerts around the country. The tour will begin tonight in St. Louis at the Sheldon Concert Hall and will continue through the fall and winter. Patty and band will be playing tracks from the new record as well as some favorites from years past.

Mountain Soul II (in stores September 29) is the follow up to the original Mountain Soul, which was named a Top Ten record of 2001 by both USA Today and Entertainment Weekly.

As part of the record launch, Patty is taking the opportunity to support the Christian Appalachian Project.

Growing up in Pikeville, Kentucky, the music of the Appalachians has always been near and dear to Patty. Nearly nine years ago Mountain Soul introduced Patty to an even larger fan base, attracting listeners in the Bluegrass and Americana genres while also proving to be a favorite amongst her long-time fans. Like its predecessor, the new album will feature Pattys crystalline country vocals amid bluegrass-tinged instrumentation.

This will be the second record Patty has done with Saguaro Road Records, following 2008s Sleepless Nights, which was nominated for a Grammy.

The repertoire on Mountain Soul II ranges from the traditional gospel tunes Working on a Building and Friends in Gloryland to contemporary compositions such as Jon Randalls gorgeous ballad You Burned the Bridge and Barbara Keiths soaring folk ode Bramble and the Rose. The daughter of a Kentucky coal miner, Patty restores the original mining lyrics to Harlan Howards 1962 classic Busted. On the Emmylou Harris song Diamond in My Crown, Pattys vocal is accompanied by a harmony part from its originator. The lovely melody of Fools Thin Air, penned by Susanna Clark and Rodney Crowell, is drenched in bluegrass harmony. The throbbing Prisoners Tears is backed by a sighing steel guitar.

To date, Patty has issued eight Gold Record albums, four of which have gone on to Platinum status. She is noted for such chart-topping hits as Timber Im Falling in Love, Chains, Blame it on Your Heart, You Can Feel Bad and Lonely Too Long, as well as such enduring fan favorites as I Try to Think About Elvis, How Can I Help You Say Goodbye, Im That Kind of Girl and You Dont Even Know Who I Am. The Wooden Bridge
The 'London Bridge is falling down' Nursery Rhyme is based on the one of the most famous landmarks in London. It's history can be traced to the Roman occupation of England in the first century. The first London Bridge was made of wood and clay and was fortified or re-built with the various materials mentioned in the children's nursery rhyme. Many disasters struck the bridges - Viking invaders destroyed the bridge in the 1000's which led to a fortified design, complete with a drawbridge. Building materials changed due to the many fires that broke out on the bridge.
The Stone Bridge
The first stone bridge was designed by Peter de Colechurch and built in 1176 and took 33 years to build and featured twenty arches the dimensions of which were sixty feet high and thirty feet wide and was complete with tower and gates. The flow of the Thames under the bridge was used to turn water wheels below the arches for grinding grain. By the 1300's the bridge contained 140 shops, some of which were more than three stories high. ( The reference to Silver and Gold in the rhyme relates to the trading which was conducted on the bridge). London Bridge survived the Great Fire of London in 1666 but its arches and foundations were weakened. The Modern Re-builds!
In the 1820s a new London Bridge was built on another site, north of the old one. This new bridge opened in 1831 and the old bridge was demolished. In the 1960s yet another London Bridge was built. The London Bridge of 1831 was transported, stone by stone, to Lake Havasu in Arizona, USA.

History

The origins of the "Pussycat pussycat" rhyme dates back to the history of 16th century Tudor England. One of the waiting ladies of Queen Elizabeth 1st had an old cat which roamed throughout Windsor castle. On one particular occasion the cat ran beneath the throne where its tail brushed against the Queen's foot, startling her. Luckily 'Good Queen Bess' had a sense of humour and decreed that the cat could wander about the throne room, on condition it kept it free of mice!

Jack and Jill story - The French (history) connection!
The roots of the story, or poem, of Jack and Jill are in France. Jack and Jill referred to are said to be King Louis XVI - Jack -who was beheaded (lost his crown) followed by his Queen Marie Antoinette - Jill - (who came tumbling after). The words and lyrics to the Jack and Jill poem were made more acceptable as a story for children by providing a happy ending! The actual beheadings occurred in during the Reign of Terror in 1793. The first publication date for the lyrics of Jack and Jill rhyme is 1795 - which ties-in with the history and origins. The Jack and Jill poem is also known as Jack and Gill - the mis-spelling of Gill is not uncommon in nursery rhymes as they are usually passed from generation to generation by word of mouth.
Death by Beheading!
On the gruesome subject of beheading it was the custom that following execution the severed head was held up by the hair by the executioner. This was not, as many people think, to show the crowd the head but in fact to show the head the crowd and it's own body! Consciousness remains for at least eight seconds after beheading until lack of oxygen causes unconsciousness and eventually death. The guillotine is associated with the French but the English were the first to use this device as described in our section containing Mary Mary Quite Contrary Rhyme.
